overview

There's nothing better than being in nature, and Trail Ranch Outfitters — an outdoors, hunting and fishing guide company in West Texas — needed a brand that firmly seated them as an authentic, welcoming organization. By taking a holistic approach, we crafted a solid experience from naming and brand identity to web design and apparel.

No. 1 — Logo

It was important for Trail Ranch Outfitters to feel at home in their small West Texas hometown of Albany. By basing the logomark on a 'TR' cattle brand and containing it in an roughed-up oval, we nods to the land's roots as a cattle ranch. Bold, rustic type (SS Nickson Two, to be exact) compliments the simple logo mark to create a natural feel and a full suite of marks were built to provide the company with tons of options no matter the application.

No. 2 — Color Palette

The brand colors reflect everything you'll see when adventuring outside in West Texas — muted green fields of grass, cool blue skies and rich fields of sunflowers. The colors allowed us to grass green the hero while supporting with a mix of cool colors, warm colors and neutrals.

No. 3 — Website

The website design needed to accomplish several key goals — introduce Trail Ranch Outfitter's values as outdoor enthusiasts and conservationists, outline their upcoming events and sell the idea of Albany, Texas as a compelling destination. Through a mix of captivating, casual copywriting, visual storytelling and archival photography, we presented all these facets at once.

No. 4 — Custom Icons

If a picture is worth a thousand words, an icon may be worth a million. It was important to keep the vibe and execution of the logomark as we built out a library of icons for the brand. Rough edges? Check. Friendly, approachable style? Check. Lots of nature? Check.

No. 5 — Apparel

Everybody loves sporting their brand, and Trail Ranch is no different. With the number of events and classes that they offer, we knew they'd make good use of hats, t-shirts, bags and more. It's a great way to expand the brand and make use of that logo suite!
